An individual who spiked candy with tranquilliser and distributed them to youngsters at a summer program in the area has pleaded guilty to sexual crimes against two young males who were nine and ten years old.
The accused was detained after eight children and one adult fell ill at Stathern Lodge in July.
The senior citizen, from that region, admitted guilt to a total of 17 charges when he stood at Leicester Crown Court on the end of the week.
However, he refused to admit one of the sexual offences he was facing, which was against a nine-year-old boy.
Ruben was held in detention prior to a additional proceeding on late November.
'Sweet game'
The prosecutor, presenting evidence, outlined the criminal behavior to the judicial body.
She explained his those affected were under-privileged children who were participating in a youth camp which he operated.
The defendant engaged in a "sweet game" with the minors, the prosecutor explained, in which he would enter the children's bedrooms when they were settling down and tell them to eat sweets "as fast as possible".
She informed the proceedings the defendant had played this game with the children "over an extended period", and youngsters had previously fallen ill the subsequent day.
She explained the defendant had been successful in rationalizing this for many years as the youngsters being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his stepchild had concerns in recently.
Mrs Prior KC added: "This year his stepchild had concerns about what was going on, with valid cause.
"They chose" to examine in the individual's items."
The prosecutor said items including infant oil, ointment and medical needles were found, and his stepchild contacted the law enforcement about his suspicions.
She explained the man went on to play the "treat game" with six youngsters that night - Saturday 26 July - and they were all sick the next day.
"Law enforcement" had not arrived by that stage," she continued.
The police watchdog, the police conduct office, previously told that it was reviewing the police response of the events.
Mrs Prior said the minors were unable to walk properly due to their sickness, so Ruben's stepson called the law enforcement a second time.
She stated the defendant then conducted the "sweet game" in a room of five youngsters.
